Can you lift something in through an upper floor opening?
Often, yes, and it is a job we do a lot in the old mill buildings around Stockport. The approach to our unit is a steep cobbled slope. Does that rule it out?
Not on its own. A lorry can work on a slope, but the outriggers have to go down on something solid and the bed has to be levelled before anything is lifted, so it takes longer. Cobbles and setts are fine when they are sound. Tell us how steep it is and roughly how long the climb is.
How long does it take you to get to Stockport?
Around half an hour from the yard outside the rush, either down the A6 through Levenshulme or round the M60 and off at one of the Stockport junctions. Marple and Mellor add a bit on top because the last few miles are slower.
Do you charge for travel down from Manchester?
