We are based at Miles Platting in Manchester and we travel out. There is no branch in your town and we would not pretend otherwise. What there is instead is a set of lorries that carry their own lifting gear, so the vehicle that arrives is the whole operation. No forklift to book, no second machine to meet us, nobody standing about waiting for kit.
That is what makes a region this size workable from one base. The North West is held together by motorway. The M60 rings Manchester, the M62 runs east to west, the M61 goes up to Bolton and Preston, the M6 carries on north and south, and the M56 takes you into Cheshire and out towards the airport. A job forty miles away is still a morning’s work, because almost every industrial estate, mill yard and building site in the region sits within a few minutes of a junction.
We cover Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and Merseyside. Most weeks that means container and cabin work around the Manchester boroughs, plant moves out along the M62, and deliveries up into the Lancashire mill towns. If it is beyond the North West we will still do it, because the same lorry runs nationally.

How far out from Manchester will you travel in a day?
Anywhere in the North West and back, comfortably. Blackburn, Preston, Chester and the Fylde coast are all a morning's work from the yard if the access is straightforward, because almost the whole region sits within reach of a motorway junction.
Does the same lorry cover the whole region?
Yes, and that is the point of a HIAB. The lifting gear is bolted to the vehicle, so the lorry that leaves Miles Platting at six is the same one doing the lift in Burnley or Northwich later that morning. Nothing has to meet us there.
Do you have a depot in my town?
No. We run out of one yard at Drewett Street in Miles Platting, Manchester, and travel out from there. It keeps the vehicles and the drivers the same ones every time, which matters more on a lift than being five miles closer.
Is travel across the region charged separately?
Inside Greater Manchester, no. Further out into Lancashire or Cheshire the mileage is in the price, but it is one price for the job rather than a travel charge bolted on afterwards. Tell us both ends of the journey and we will quote the lot.
Can you do a collection in one county and a delivery in another?
Regularly. A machine picked up in Bolton and set down in Warrington, or a cabin loaded in Preston and delivered in Stockport, is one job on one vehicle. We also run nationally, so the same load can carry on into Scotland or Wales.
How much notice do you need for a job out in the region?
Same week is normal and same day happens often, particularly if you get in touch first thing. Saturday mornings are available up to half past twelve. The harder the access, the more use a day or two of notice is to both of us.
