Utility work, plant, and a yard fifteen minutes away
Tameside is close. Droylsden is a straight run out of our yard along Ashton Old Road, and Ashton, Audenshaw, Dukinfield and Denton are all inside half an hour even on a bad morning. That closeness shapes the work we get here. A lot of it is utility and contractor work that comes up at short notice: cable drums to collect, plant to shift between sites, a machine to get in through a workshop door before the shift starts.
The industrial side of the borough is spread out rather than concentrated. Ashton Moss, Globe Lane in Dukinfield, the estates along the Tame and the units off the M67 around Hyde and Denton. Most are reached off the A635, the A57 or one of the M67 junctions, and most have a yard of some sort, which makes them simpler than a city centre lift but no less exact.
Head east and the ground starts to climb. Stalybridge, Carrbrook and Mossley are noticeably hillier, and on a sloping yard the setting up matters as much as the lift. We are based in Manchester and travel out to you, so the honest answer on timings is that we will be with you soon, not that we are round the corner.

Can you collect cable drums?
Yes, and it is regular work for us. Full drums, empties going back to the supplier, or a mixed load off a site at the end of a job. They are heavy, they roll and they need chocking and roping properly, so it is worth having the right vehicle rather than a flatbed and hope.
What is the difference between hiring the lorry and a contract lift?
On a standard hire you tell us what to lift and where to put it, and you keep responsibility for the plan. On a contract lift we take that on: we plan the lift, write the method statement and the risk assessment and appoint the people. If the site is asking for paperwork before we turn up, that is the one you want.
How quickly can you get to Ashton or Droylsden?
Quickly. Droylsden is about fifteen minutes from the yard straight out on the A635, and Ashton, Denton and Dukinfield are not much more than twenty. Stalybridge and Mossley take longer because the last part is slower going.
Does the hilly ground out east cause problems?
It means we spend a bit longer setting up. The lorry has to be level and the outriggers have to be down on something that will take the weight before anything comes off the bed, and on a sloping yard or a banked verge that takes time and often mats. It is not a reason to say no, it is a reason to tell us in advance.
Do you charge for travel out from Manchester?
No. Tameside is one of our closest boroughs and there is no travel element in the price. You are paying for the vehicle, the driver and the time it takes.
Can you do a same week booking?
Nearly always, and often the same day if you get in touch first thing. For a contract lift give us longer, because the planning and the paperwork have to be done properly before the lorry sets off.
